INTERVIEW : G (THE BUNGALOWS)

G is abit of an enigma. He doesn’t say much, but when he speaks, well he leaves you with a big smile on your face. If you know FBi Radio favourites THE BUNGALOWS, then you’ve heard the strength of G’s voice ringing through the speakers. He worships Bob Marley and brings the call  to arms that forms The Bungalows good vibes message for the people. He is currently on holiday in Bali getting ready for his bands tour in August which will be taking in alot of Australia’s capital cities and Coastal towns. If there’s anything to learn from knowing G it’s this, sometimes it’s what you don’t say that leaves a bigger impression on people. We all spend so much time trying to fill everything with empty words when sometimes a small gesture is more than enough. We can just see G now, just chillin out in Bali waiting for the sun to set while sipping on a fancy drink. He looks up to the waitress and says – Good times. Totally, it’s all about the good times G.

Where did you grow up?

Gerringong.

Was music in the family or did you pick it up somewhere?

My dad always had music on in the house when we were growing up. Mainly jimmy buffet. He’s cool.

Can you recall one of your favourite early childhood memories?

I can’t remember what i did yesterday.

What made you want to join a band?

I heard rock stars get heaps of chicks.

If you weren’t a musician what would you be doing?

Probably been a stunt double for Brad Pitt.

Tell us something about your hometown.

It’s where the mountains meet the sea

What are the positives about being an independent band?

You can do what you want.

The negatives?

We still have to keep our day jobs.

Making new songs and playing them with the band is the funnest thing to do for us. we like to keep things fresh.

It makes it easy to get songs you wanna hear. I reckon thats pretty cool.

The Bungalows are just about to release a new studio album which was recorded with Burke Reid at the helm. Any funny stories from recording with Burke? spill the beans.

What happens in the studio stays in the studio.

Do you ever get nervous when it comes to recording? or do you feel at home in the studio?

Recording is fun. I wish we could spend more time in the studio.

Where do you get the inspiration for your lyrics from?

Just a bit of everything.

Spliffs.

There are a few bands that have been famous for the brother connection, what is like being in a band with your brother Matt?

It’s good. We all get along real good.

We’ve heard rumours that you guys are already demoing new songs, is this true?

This is true. maybe do another album soon.
