Newcastle’s finest, THE OWLS have just released their brand new single KRAKOW. This catchy fun rockin tune was given the slick treatment by a talented team of Australian recording veterans including; Producer Lachlan Mitchell at Jungle Studios, Sydney, mastering was taken care of by the legendary Steve Smart at Studios 301, Sydney, so all the ingredients for a sure-fire rock n’ roll hit are there. Just turn it up and lose yourself to this killer tune.

We got in touch with frontman Josh Bailey and asked him about his trip to Europe and the birth of a song about Krakow, a City in Poland “It was the first real foreign country I had ever been to. I did a lot of traveling around the city where I saw a whole lot of places of historical significance during the war. One night out in the centre of Krakow I got pretty messed up on Vodka which seemed to be everywhere and cheap. I was so taken by the city I wrote down a loose draft of lyrics which I sent back to the guys that night. When I got back home that month it was the first song we the band wrote together”.

Their gritty Rod Martin directed video for Krakow was filmed in the back alleys of China Town in Sydney at about 5am while the boys were coming off a 3 day bender. Them Newcastle kids pull up good right? it must be them 1.30am lockouts. Haha!

Do yourself a favour and get up to The Standard in Surry Hills this Thursday and see THE OWLS launch their new single KRAKOW taken from their upcoming ep OWN THE STREETS with an amazing lineup of Local talent; SIAMESE ALMEIDA, ANGRY BEIGE and BRITISH BLUES. Don’t miss this show!
