GOONS OF DOOM ARE PLAYING PIANOS, NYC THIS FRIDAY!!
The last time the Goons of Doom were in New York, this is what happened over four days…The Goons drank at a gay bar, had dinner at a restaurant called Kingswood, went out drinking, danced with transvestite’s, partied hard, caught cabs, walked, hugged, played pool, danced to jukebox music, chewed gum, partied hard, kissed girls, played pool, hung out at Max Fish, hung out at Max Fish, danced on tables, sang songs inside vans, sang songs insides cabs, ate bagels, drank beer and played a gig to 5,000 skaters in an underground bunker. They also planned to go to the Empire State Building, the Moma, the Statue of Liberty and have a picnic in Central Park, but couldn’t make it because they ran out of time. Anyway, you get the picture.
But here’s the NEWS FLASH!!!!! The Goons have survived an Earthquake, a Hurricane and a town called Richmond! Tell your daughters The Goons are back in NEW YORK CITY this Friday!!!!

A QUICK CHAT WITH THE BUNGALOWS

Our Artist of the Month ‘The Bungalows’are half way thru their album tour, and word on the streets the Gerringong boys have been kickin ass. We caught up with Matthew Gannon (bass) for a little chat.
So how’s the tour going? Just arrived back from the northern nsw / queensland leg and it was sweets. Too much fun for one weekend.
Now that you are half way thru tour are there any stand out shows so far? Probably the Great Northern at Byron, Pirates Alive and Dolphins ripped the joint up and there was a great crew there, few friends from home, the sunny bunch and lots of other lovelies moving and shaking.
How are the crowds reacting to the new material? The shows were a lot of fun, plenty of dancing so I certainly think the folks are enjoying the new stuff.
Are there any cool bands out there you’d like to recommend? Plenty, we were lucky to get a great bunch along, Pirates Alive, Dolphins, Vamps, Boss Moxi.

So when this tour ends, what’s next for The Bungalows? Well we demoed a new tune with our buddy Trigan at SAE while we were in Byron and hopefully when this round of shows wind up, we can get another bunch sorted for the warmer months. In the meantime figuring new tunes for the next album and relaxing.
So what’s been getting air time on the car stereo on the road? Congo Dave with his new tune Leper and Pretty Star, Alexander Ebert with Alexander – hell of an album, The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Mr Lennon and some killer community radio stations.

GOONS OF DOOM PLAY FIRST SHOW TO A PACKED ART SHOW PARTY IN COSTA MESA
Costa Mesa is a seaside town in Los Angeles where some of the most layed back people live, they are also super creative. You could bottle the good vibes here and sell it.
Goons of Doom started their American tour to a massive audience of dancers, groovers and some of the best people on earth. Mylee Grace also got up for a sing and a jam too. This town knows how to party.
Ozzie Wrong also launched his awesome new surf film ‘VALLEY OF SCUM HERE I COME’ (link coming soon).
Oz was also part of a pretty sick art show which included local legend artist Ben Brough and the very talented Kid Creature (aged 11).
Shit doesn’t get better than this.
Wo!

SAVE THE KILLERWHALE – TONIGHT!!
Life is crazy, one minute you’re screaming down the highway at 100 clicks, the next you are swimming in the vast oceans without a care in the world, life is just amazing. Then one day further down the track you get told you are sick. This is what happened to one of my dearest friends Killerwhale Tim (Goons of Doom), he recently got told that he had cancer, a rare one and the prognosis is good. All he has to do is have an operation to get it removed, so we are all hoping and praying (yes I said that word) for a miracle.
Luckily for us, we are surrounded by amazing friends with alot of creative ideas, so we decided to come together to put on a gig to help raise money for our homie Killerwhale. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that we have received in return, not only from friends, family and fans alike, but especially all the supporters who have selflessly given us so much. At last count I think the prizes for the raffles and auction have surely hit around the $30,000 mark. Fuck all this war and shit, human beings have the capacity to be so amazing.
This event is going to be a special gathering of like-minded people who not only care about Killer, but they care for the cause that is life. So I am looking forward to getting down to the Beach Rd and soaking up this night with each and every one of those people.
What’s important about life is not the people you know, the have or the have-nots, the famous or the not so famous, what is important is what we can do for our fellow brother man, to me that is what being human is about, making the connection with the people who need us and being a part of that circle of life, which in return will give you good vibes to carry on with what you do from day-to-day.
Killer means the world to me and everyone who knows him, he is like a little brother and also someone who doesn’t have a boring bone in his body. So you can imagine what it’s like being in a tour can with him. He is also a loving husband, has a dog named Fizzy, is a talented singer, songwriter and has recently written some of the most special songs these ears have heard in a while. The new Goons record will definitely be proof of that. So as you can imagine, we (all his close friends) are coming together because Killer is that guy in our lives and we sure as hell don’t want that to change.
So on behalf of everyone who has gotten behind this cause for our beloved brother Tim, I just wanna say – Thank You.
See you tonight!!!!
Being positive is what we do
Making music is the jungle we rumble in
Spreading good vibes to all those who wanna hear it
The gospel is the Rock and the song is the Roll
Peace,
XR

THE AMERICANS GET THE BUNGALOWS

Ok so our artist of the month THE BUNGALOWS are now only just hitting the Road and already they are starting to get some buzz from a couple of blogs based in the USA. New York based blog WE ALL WANT SOMEONE TO SHOUT FOR (who are celebrating their 4 millionth blog view this week) had some pretty cool things to say about THE BUNGALOWS.
THE BUNGALOWS – GOT TO GO text taken from http://www.weallwantsomeone.org
The Bungalows are a four-piece from Gerringong, Australia. A song of theirs titled “Got To Go” is sounding oh so good right now. Singer G Gannon immediately captures your attention with a comforting howl reminiscent of The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser. The rest of the band plays their part with succession, creating a rocking track that doesn’t stray from it’s winning formula.
It’s from their new album, Monkey Mountain Road, which is out now thru MAKEyourself Records. Listen to “Got To Go” below, and watch it’s music video right after the jump:

We already know that we’re backing a winner, Australia you need to wake up to this talented local band sooner or later. Where’s the local bloggers at?
