MESSAGE IN A CONVERSE FROM MR RAY
Hello friends,
Well a funny thing happened to me a little while ago. I was on the internet hanging at all hours, it would’ve been say 2am? which is early for folk like me. I saw something interesting flash up on facebook, it was an art competition called ‘THE FOOTLOCKER ARTPRIZE – THE WORLDS RICHEST COLOURING COMPETITION’ and the prize money was $50,001. So I decided to enter.
Anyway 6,000 people entered this thing, that’s alot of entries. A few weeks later I got an email saying thanks for entering. I was like “well this is my rejection letter, the hi thanks but no thanks”. So it turns out that I am in the final 25. I’m like “this is crazy!!” But then to top it off I got a message last week saying that my art work would be hanging in the Art Gallery of NSW. I’m like “what the far out that is crazy on a whole other level”.
So tonight I’ll be at a crowded event at the Art Gallery of NSW when they announce the winner. I’ll most probably be drunk in a dark corner freaking out. Well not freaking out, just blocking my ears. I’ll take anything as a sign or a curse, a broken glass, a pigeon flying into the room etc… Sorry, I had a superstitious Christian upbringing.
If I do win, well it’s guaranteed that I’ll be shouting a shit load of rounds at Flinders Hotel tonight till the wee hours of the night. So friends, be waiting on my text which will read “I WON $50,001 – PARTY NOW – FLINDERS BAR!” or it will just say “At FLINDERS BAR – Meh!” ha ha!

I’ve worn Converse all my life. It doesn’t matter what mood I am in, when I put on my Chucks, they make me feel happy.
I was imagining that if a magical Converse shoe landed in any random town, it could literally change the lives of the kids and inspire them to be creative, enjoy life and good times no matter what.
11 YEAR OLD ARTIST TRIPP BIANCO – DEBUT ART SHOW SELLS OUT IN HALF AN HOUR!
Remember our little friend, the 11-year-old artist TRIPP BIANCO? Anyway his debut exhibition which took place yesterday ‘SOLD OUT’ in half an hour.
We are so stoked and so proud of Tripp, we also give big props to our Homie Tripp’s dad Pauly B for giving us all hope that even though we’re all a little bit crazy, if we just try our best at being encouraging and good to our kids then just maybe the next generation are going to be ok.
Big love to all our friends and celebrities who bought paintings and a big congratulations again to Trippy B Bianco. “You did it baby!!”
If you are a kid, have a kid, an uncle , an aunt or just dig art in general, then get down and check Tripp’s debut art show out. It will be hanging till 11am, Wednesday morning. So jump to it. Get down there and get inspired.

INTERVIEW : TRIPP BIANCO (ARTIST)
Tripp Bianco is a cool kid man. I’m not sure if it’s right to actually call him a kid? he’s doin something that alot of us didn’t do at the tender age of 11 and that is have a debut Art Exhibition. Seriously it takes alot of effort to make an art exhibition happen. Ask anyone who has had an exhibition and ask anyone who hasn’t, it’s a big deal.
The first time I met Tripp he would’ve easily been about 2 or 3. It was at a Breakdancing jam in Hyde Park, Sydney and he was wearing a sky blue t shirt, (did it have a Beastie Boys logo on it? or was it Star Wars?). He was loose, the kid was actually messing with me. ha ha! and he was this tiny little kid. ha ha! Anyway it was pretty obvious that Tripp was not going to just sit back and let the world go by.
We’re so proud as punch of ya Tripp and thanks for taking the time out to let us know a little bit more about who you really are. We’ll save this interview and keep it here on the internet so you can come back and check out where you were in 2011.
Some advice for adults, take some time out and listen to what young people have to say. It might just make your day or even inspire you to have an art exhibition!
MYLEE GRACE TO LAUNCH HER NEW EP ‘BABY TALK’ AT FLINDERS BAR
Get down to Flinders Bar on Thursday 14th July to witness the launch of MYLEE GRACE’S EP ‘BABY TALK’. Special guests on the night will be good friends DUSTY DUETS (that’s Killer from Goons of Doom and his lady, Angelique). And opening the night will be POPULAR MASS (featuring Northern Beaches poet, artist and legend Marcy and Killer from Dusty Duets).
There will also be some special guests appearances on the night. You’ll have to be there to see.

If you are from the skate scene there is no doubt you will know Mr (Brett) Stokes. The guy is what all humans should look at as a bench mark in life. He’s full of positive vibes and is a full force of talent, humour and good times. Outside of the skateboard world of Krew, where he spends most of his man hours, Mr Stokes plays bass in Sydney Soul Punk band, FAIT ACCOMPLI. The boys are releasing their latest double a side single NO FOOL / ON A BLUE DAY through MAKEyourself RECORDS and are currently on tour celebrating this special occasion. Before boarding a UFO we had a little bit of a conversation with Mr Stokes. This is what he had to say.

Those who know Mylee’s music pretty much throw praise her way like it’s going out of fashion. Mylee Grace is releasing her brand new EP ‘Baby talk’ and she was kind enough to give us a little bit of her wisdom in a cup of tea. We then translated every drop of that cuppa into text which now appears on your computer screen for you to read. O the things we do for our readers. Enjoy.

G is abit of an enigma. He doesn’t say much, but when he speaks, well he leaves you with a big smile on your face. If you know FBi Radio favourites THE BUNGALOWS, then you’ve heard the strength of G’s voice ringing through the speakers. He worships Bob Marley and brings the call to arms that forms The Bungalows good vibes message for the people. He is currently on holiday in Bali getting ready for his bands tour in August which will be taking in alot of Australia’s capital cities and Coastal towns. If there’s anything to learn from knowing G it’s this, sometimes it’s what you don’t say that leaves a bigger impression on people. We all spend so much time trying to fill everything with empty words when sometimes a small gesture is more than enough. We can just see G now, just chillin out in Bali waiting for the sun to set while sipping on a fancy drink. He looks up to the waitress and says – Good times. Totally, it’s all about the good times G.
